Portalp Inc.

In the summer of 2022, I served as the sole engineering intern at the Irwin branch of Portalp Inc., an international automatic door company. Despite my limited experience, I shouldered a substantial number of responsibilities, gaining valuable insights into the practical aspects of engineering.

Throughout my internship, I utilized Solidworks to create an advanced prototype model for a newly designed automatic, three-panel telescopic door. This involved integrating the new design into Portalp's existing automatic door lineup. In response to supply chain challenges arising from the COVID-19 Pandemic, I successfully redesigned door models to address specific part losses. I played a crucial role in advancing the company's CAD practices by transitioning from simple part models to complex assemblies of active automatic doors.

In addition to my design responsibilities, I tackled wiring issues in automatic door control mechanisms, ensuring compliance with electrical codes. This comprehensive experience not only enabled me to actively contribute to cutting-edge developments in automatic door technology but also honed my skills in both mechanical and electrical engineering domains.
